MobiTek was started in Peterborough in June 2009 with the help of a government grant in support of youth entrepreneurship. Justin Beaudoin, now 19, is the CEO and Founder of MobiTek. When he first opened MobiTek he stated that "Peterborough needs a computer service repair centre that can come right to your door without having the need to charge their customers ‘premium’ prices.”

Service centres in the Kawartha's and across Ontario are ripping people off left, right and centre. They charge regardless if they fix the computer or not. There are diagnostic fees, extra time fees, convenience fees, and of course the hourly rate at around $80 to $100!

The company also offers a wide range of backup and media services that include DVD duplicating, archiving pictures to DVD or CD, VHS tape to DVD conversions, file conversion. MobiTek also offers a wide range of computer training skills from Microsoft® Word™ to Adobe® Photoshop™ that the client can choose to learn and at their own speed.

MobiTek is also a member of the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce (since October 2010)
